THE ORIGIN. Read the full story about the making of Book of the Sea here.

ETHICALLY HARVESTED. I find shells that are cast up on the beach- often split halves that are rejoined. This book is a tactile ode to the ocean and the life within– a contemplative vessel to spark inspiration of the essential nature and imperative health of the oceans that are critical for a sustainable future.

HANDCRAFTED. All steps in the crafting of this heirloom-quality journal were approached the old world way using hand tools: awl, needle & thread, ruler, bone folders, manual hole punch & a steel blade. Made with careful consideration for the environment and a hint of magic slipped between the covers. Designed and hand-crafted in a small artist studio on Orcas Island, USA.
